Welcome to Reymen’s Cinematic World
Reymen Rivera is a queer filmmaker and educator based in Atlanta, Georgia. During their time in production, they worked as a first and second AC; they also have experience in G&E, production design, script supervision, and as a first assistant director. Their resume includes work on short films, feature films, music videos, and web series. Currently, their focus has landed on directing, screenwriting, and editing.
Their filmmaking captures stories not bound by the constraints of one specific genre or mode. Rivera has a taste for sci-fi, thrillers, and drama, and is unafraid to look beyond traditional narrative to the realm of the experimental. Common themes in their work are the juxtaposition of chosen family versus blood relatives, queer life and queer experiences, mental health, and overall the internal emotional experience.
Filmmaking as their art is ever-evolving as they continue to live life and create films. Working in higher education through their role as a graduate student in Georgia State University’s MFA Digital Filmmaking program has allowed them to hone their skills not only in filmmaking but in film education as well. As they continue their work, in their own projects and working with others, they hope to bring their knowledge and experience into the classroom.
